8-Day Ingraham Aurora Tambour Mantel Clock Movement
The time-strike 8-day movement in an unremarkable 1930s American Ingraham mantel clock ticking away. I disassembled this and rebushed the worn pivot holes and polished the pivots as needed. I used to refurbish these in an attempt at a career, but I was unable to find a mentor willing to teach me enough to become a skilled clockmaker. Sadly, fixing these things is a dying art in the age of quartz timepieces. If there are any older folks out there that have worked as a clockmaker and are looking to pass on their knowledge, please contact me.
i am with you on this one. i would love to become a qualified clock maker / watch maker. i still think there are people out there chasing mechanical clocks and want to repair them. i know i have a passion for repairing them.
